Radeon x1600 in MacBook Pro Massively Underclocked!

Well, it seems as though some Mac enthusiasts have discovered that the Radeon x1600 video card in the MacBook Pros are actually severely underclocked, from 470MHz/470MHz to a pathetic 310MHz / 278MHz. Now, don’t get me wrong, it is still an amazing video card, however with a video card so powerful, why let it under perform? By downloading ATI Tools beta version 0.25, you can overclock (normalclock?) it back to its desired speed. Stream your iTunes Music to your PSP

Sahas over at Skatter Tech has posted a guide on his blog on how to stream music from your iTunes library onto your PSP, using it’s built in Wi-Fi.
Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a very popular device and has sold a few million units, but when compared to Apple’s iPod, the PSP lacks storage space. Yahoo! Releases 1-meter/pixel Resolution for Continental US

Two days ago, Yahoo! released the first publicly available consistent collection of satellite photos for the entire US at 1-meter resolution. Here’s your new chance to see your house. If you don’t know what this means, it means that Yahoo! completely retook the imagery of the whole continental United States, with a 1-meter/pixel resolution. Go check if your house is viewable – or updated!

Did you know that Google makes 12 cents every time you search?

According to BBC News, Google makes 12 cents every time you place a search using their search engine. Considering that over 27 billion searches were performed in January of 2006, that’s a lot of money. If my math is correct, which it usually isn’t (which explains my F in algebra last semester), they made $32,400,000 in the month of January from searches. I’m not sure if this can be classified as technology news, persay, but definitely something to know.
Introducing Bootcamp

Apple has released Bootcamp, a program for OSX that will repartition your drive without formatting OSX and allow you to then natively install Windows XP, with full driver support.
In order to run Bootcamp, you will need a few things. Obviously (and most importantly) you need an Intel powered Mac, such as an iMac, or a MacBook Pro. Along with that, you will need the latest firmware update, and OSX 10.4.6. After ensuring you have all of the requirements, install Bootcamp, partition your Windows partition, and reboot from the XP disc.

Apple has released OSX Tiger 10.4.6 today, which basically contains the usual slight improvements and fixes. It includes recent apple security updates, along with a lot of fixes for various apple programs, system related stuff, and much much more. I guess this is Apple’s present to us for their 30th anniversary?

Today marks the 30th Anniversary of Apple Computer! On April 1st, 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak filed partnership forms to build the very first Apple Computer. With recent inventions like the iPod and OSX, they are in the best financial state they have been in a long time. Receiving nearly 14 billion for its 2005 fiscal year and loaded with nearly 8 billion in cash, Apple is certainly proud of itself I’m sure.
Hopefully we’ll see some new products for the anniversary. Some are hoping for the 13″ iBook, while others want a widescreen video ipod. We’ll wait and see, seeing More >
New Google Interface

Many people think that Google should resdesign their site, in order to stay in the competition between other better looking engines, such as live. Well, they did, and it’s looking great! The new interface is currently unavailable to the public, unless you enter this cool little hack.
To do this, go to the Google homepage. From there, enter this code into the address bar, ignoring and hitting OK on any errors that come up

TorrentSpy taking on the MPAA!

So it seems that the MPAA is trying to outlaw the .torrent file format, and TorrentSpy doesn’t like it. They’re taking them on in court. Trying to outlaw a file extension? TorrentSpy is most definitely in for the win. Now, if they were going to court over movie pirating in general, I’d have a different opinion. But the file format? My god.
